April 14, 2003 San Diego based Imagenetix, Inc. www.imagenetix.net (OTCBB: IAGX) announces promising research on the bioavailability of a proprietary Imagenetix compound was detailed in a poster presentation at the Experimental Biology 2003 Conference in San Diego on Saturday, April 12. This compound is a proprietary fatty acid ester blend that has been shown in studies to significantly increase joint mobility. It has no known side effects. In the presentation, University of Minnesota, Department of Food Science and Nutrition Associate Professor Dr. Dan Gallaher, Ph.D., revealed information showing that the compound is readily absorbed whether given via oral supplementation or applied topically. The absorption and metabolism of the proprietary compound was studied using 14C labeled esterified fatty acid compound as a trace. Lipids were extracted from the plasma, stomach, kidney, small intestinal contents, mucosa and adipose tissue. In addition, lipids were extracted from the feces and skin tissue taken from the site of topical application. 14C labeled triglyceride was the predominant metabolite in plasma, kidney, liver and adipose. “One of the key findings from our study is that the labeled product is found within all tissues regardless of the route of administration,” commented Dr. Gallaher. “While absorption appeared to be slightly higher when given orally, the data shows that topical application exhibits a similar distribution pattern. This significant understanding of the compound’s bio-availability characteristics and distribution patterns provides important insight into potential sites for cellular action and metabolism.” “The scientific findings are everything we could have hoped for” stated William Spencer, President and CEO of Imagenetix. “Joint function and mobility challenges are universal and are a growing segment of musculo-skeletal health challenges that are estimated to cost $215 billion dollars per year in the United States alone. Our scientific data demonstrates that our compound is found within all tissues in both our topical cream form as well as the oral administration form. This data provides further validation of our research and focus in this immense market of joint health conditions.” * These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.
